How does Pay Your Contacts work?

Open your Mobile app, select the account you want to send money from, select the ‘Pay your contacts’ option, enter their mobile number, the amount you want to pay them and add a personal message.

If the person you're paying is a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore or Isle of Man Bank Mobile app user, they'll receive a text and the money will be in their account instantly.

If the person you are paying does not have the Mobile app then we can send the payment via the Paym service. This is a service that is available to customers of most of the UK's leading banks and building societies. If your friend is registered for Paym with their own bank then the money will be in their account instantly.

Some important information:

Pay Your Contacts lets you send money to someone with a UK mobile number who has a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore or Isle of Man Bank Mobile app, or registered for the Paym service. You must have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). There is a maximum payment of £250 a day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits.

Pay Your Contacts is available for NatWest customers on our Android, iPhone, Windows and Kindle apps.
