How do I set up Apple Pay on my iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch?

You can start using Apple Pay as soon as you have added your first credit card or debit card to Wallet on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

Setting up your card

To set up Apple Pay and to add your credit card or debit card to Wallet:

  • For an iPhone 6 and above open Wallet and tap the 'Plus' icon next to Apple Pay in the upper-right corner
  • For an iPad Air 2, iPad Pro and iPad mini 3 and 4 go to 'Settings' > 'Wallet' > 'Apple Pay' > 'Add Credit or Debit Card'
  • For an Apple Watch open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap 'Wallet & Apple Pay' > 'Add Credit or Debit Card'

In all cases you have several options:

  • If you have a NatWest credit card or debit card registered with iTunes the details will be retrieved from iTunes when you first add the card, or you can choose to add a new card.
  • If you are adding a new NatWest credit card or debit card you can choose to use the camera on your iPhone or iPad to capture the details on the front of the card. Please check that the camera has captured the details exactly as they appear on your card.
  • Alternatively, you can choose to enter your card details manually.
  • NatWest may need to ask you for more information to complete the identification process. Once you have provided all the required information you will be asked to enter the 3 digit security code from the back of the card, accept the Terms and Conditions, and then tap 'Next'.
  • You will then need to verify your card with NatWest, which you can do at any time after you have added it to Passbook.
  • You will need to have an internet connection throughout to complete all the steps.
