When is the error happening?

When logging in

  • Check the details entered carefully (customer number PIN and Password) and try again
  • If you have recently registered for Online Banking but not completed the process all the way to viewing your accounts (instant access) then repeating the registration process may work
  • You could try using an alternative web browser, if available
  • If you are using Firefox, try Firefox Safe mode (Start > Programs/All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). If this works then the issue is most likely caused by one of your Firefox add-ons (commonly search toolbars)
  • If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8 you can try no add-ons mode (Start > Programs/All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If this works then the issue is most likely caused by one of your Internet Explorer add-ons (commonly search toolbars)
  • If none of the above helps resolve the issue please contact our helpdesk

When setting up new payee

  • If you already have a payee set up to the same account number and sortcode please either use the existing payee or delete the existing one and try adding again
  • Check the account details entered
  • If neither of the above applies please contact the helpdesk

When making a payment to an existing payee

  • Check the account details used they may no longer be valid
  • Contact the helpdesk
